About Nova Minesweeper

Minesweeper is propositional logic dressed as a minefield. Every number is a constraint: “exactly n mines among these eight neighbours.” Cross two constraints and you usually get a certainty.

Nova Minesweeper guarantees an empty first click, which removes death on move one. Three levels are available: 9×9 with 10 mines, 16×16 with 40, and 24×16 with 99.

How to play

  1. Left-click to uncover a square, right-click (or long-press) to plant a flag.
  2. The number tells you how many mines sit in the eight adjacent squares.
  3. Uncover every mine-free square to win.
  4. The clock starts on your first click.

Three ways to get better

  • The 1-2-1 pattern along an edge always means mines at both ends.
  • When a number already has all its flags, double-click it to open the rest.
  • If no deduction is available, open an edge square — the odds are better there.
