The problem with a rating

Comparison sites in this market publish scores out of ten, badges and “best for” labels. Almost none of them are derived from measurement. Nobody has deposited at forty operators, won at each, disputed a held withdrawal at each, and timed the outcome — and without that, a score is a summary of the operator’s own marketing with a decimal point added to make it look like data.

The score also does the reader a specific disservice. It replaces the question that matters — what does this operator’s contract say, and does its payment rail suit me — with a question that does not: which one is 9.2 and which one is 8.7. And once a number exists, the temptation to sell its position is permanent.

What can be established honestly is narrower and more useful: whether an operator is inside the regulated market. That single fact determines whether your deposits are held where they have to be available to you, whether a payout is an obligation rather than a courtesy, and whether there is anywhere to escalate when something goes wrong. It is the difference between the two halves of the internet, and it is a yes or a no rather than a judgement.

The rules this directory follows

One gate, applied mechanically: A site is listed if iGaming Ontario publishes it as regulated for play in the province. Nothing else qualifies an entry and nothing else disqualifies one. The list is refreshed from iGO’s own directory rather than curated.
No scores, no rankings, no “best of”: A number invented by a website is not evidence about how an operator handles a disputed payout. Where we cannot measure something honestly, we publish nothing instead of publishing a rating that looks like a measurement.
No offers, anywhere: Standard 2.05 prohibits third parties from communicating gambling inducements, bonuses and credits, and Standard 1.19 makes operators responsible for what their contracted third parties publish. Listing a bonus here would create a penalty exposure for the operator listed.
Order is alphabetical, not commercial: Sites appear in the order iGaming Ontario publishes them. No position in the list is for sale, and no entry moves because of a commercial relationship.
Outbound links are marked: Every link to an operator carries rel="sponsored nofollow" whether or not money is attached to it, so the markup does not have to change if commercial terms begin or end.
Corrections beat consistency: The market moves — operators join, leave, rebrand and change product mix. Where this site disagrees with iGaming Ontario or the AGCO, they are right and we are out of date.
