Asteroid Belt
Break the asteroids apart: every hit makes two smaller, faster ones.
Your reflexes against the screen
Action is the family with no pause built into the design. The game does not wait for your decision, so every one of these is about spending attention continuously rather than thinking hard once.

Break the asteroids apart: every hit makes two smaller, faster ones.

Work your way up four lanes of traffic while the speed only ever climbs.

One thrust upward, gravity for everything else — thread the gaps without touching.

Return the ball, take the wall apart, catch the power-ups on the way down.
The distinguishing feature is that the world keeps moving while you decide. In Halogen Run the traffic arrives whether or not you have chosen a lane; in Asteroid Belt your ship keeps the velocity you gave it three seconds ago; in Pulsar Rocket gravity is applying itself the whole time you are wondering whether to tap. Hesitation is itself a move, and usually a bad one.
That changes what practice does. In a puzzle you get better by finding a better rule. Here you get better by moving the decision earlier — choosing the lane before the gap arrives, starting the burn before the rock is close, tapping on a rhythm rather than in response. Players who improve at this family describe it as the game slowing down, which is really their own decisions moving forward in time.
Momentum is the mechanic worth understanding before you start. Asteroid Belt keeps full inertia: nothing slows you down, so every burn has to be paid back with an opposite one later, and the most common way to die is to be travelling faster than you meant to be. Halogen Run is the opposite lesson — the throttle matters far less than picking the correct line.
Pick by what you want out of the next ten minutes, not by the name.
| If you want | Open this |
|---|---|
| The shortest attempt | Pulsar Rocket. One button, and a run measured in seconds. |
| Reading traffic | Halogen Run. Dense night traffic where the line you choose matters more than the speed you carry. |
| Full inertia | Asteroid Belt. Nothing decelerates for you, so every burn is a debt. |
| Action with a target to take apart | Orbital Bricks. Constant motion, but with a wall that visibly disappears as you go. |
